Scanography (Scanner Photography) Fine Art by Dale Hoopingarner

Photography can preserve the ephemeral nature of flowers...but a computer scanner?  Today's digital scanners can do a lot more than just digitize checks or old photographs -- they can be used to capture the vibrant color and depth of fresh flowers. The images below offer just a taste of scanography (also known as scannography) art -- check out the Photo Gallery for more!  Like what you see? See how to order, such as a set of greeting cards - simple, elegant.  Feedback is most welcome, and be sure to to come back later to see what's new!

FREE TASTE!  I've made available a high-resolution image free for you to download and print to see for yourself the quality of the source images found on this site.  It is Three Amigos, a trio of tulips for you to enjoy.  Feel free to download and print to enjoy.  The price?  Just tell any admirers where it came from!

The Bits of Nature 2012 Calendar is now available on Lulu -- only $15!

(un)Inspired

The delightful pastel greens and blues provided by a very prolific year for hydrangea definitely inspired me, but I can't think of a suitable name that captures the pleasure of just sitting on our front steps on a warm summer evening and looking at these flowers.

Sometimes it is tough to choose amongst the myriad of flowers that are blooming during the peak of summer -- so on this one I decided not to choose!
