This is one of my favorite works -- can I say that for more than one? It came about more out of frustration than any planned creation. The depth of field for the scanner is quite shallow: anything much more than an inch from the surface of the scanner begins to fade into the distance. While this helps deliver the nearly 3D effect of the images it was frustrating my desire to capture these lilies. So almost in resignation I decided to just slice them in half to at least get an image of their inside, and...well, the results hopefully speak for themselves.
