Northern Silk

It was well into November when I created this picture -- the glorious maples having dropped their palette of color some weeks earlier, leaving only a few straggler plants to still show a touch of color. It was enough, though, to combine with the fluffy silk of the milkweed. Cleaning around the leaves was a relative cinch for this image but that was more than made up for by the devilish detail work required to edit around the delicate hairs of the milkweed.
