Spring Collection

Fern fiddleheads represent a very short window of opportunity: a day or two later and they're out too far. So I new I needed to be ready to act when they came out. There was a nice big patch of ferns so I could safely just take a stalk from each plant and therefore not damage the whole. Little did I realize what I was getting into -- the hairy stems challenged me more than most images, with this picture overall taking 20-25 hours to process.
