Lupines are fairly reliable in our garden but unfortunately rather transient — they don’t tolerate heat at all. A couple of days in the 80’s and the blooms are done. I’ve seen them in cooler areas like Norway and Colorado where the cooler temps favor them more and in massed fields they can be quite dramatic. In our yard? Mostly soloists but enjoyable when they’re out nontheless.
