Clematis

This was my first serious scan after some simple "is it working?" tests. I was blown away with the depth and clarity of detail produced and knew right then I was hooked. I didn't know at the time if I'd have any talent for composition and arrangement, but even if I simply captured the transient beauty of our garden I would have been satisfied. (I also knew I'd need some more storage: 400+ megabytes for most of these images, and the really high resolution ones c0me in at 1.6 GB!)

Clematis took first place in the photography division at the Franklin Art Association's Spring 2011 "Art Under the Tent" show.
